When we started to travel to East Europe with Bibles, we were challenged with fear and opportunity. There was the choice to go and the choice to stay home where things were safe. There was the urge to go and until the border there was the choice to turn back. Just before crossing the border and enter an enemy zone always brought the greatest inward fight. You’d pray and lay it all in God’s hand, and thinking of our brothers and sisters on the other side of this fence who where longing to have a Bible for themselves or to share with others, the choice soon was made to go!
Once at the border, where things were out of our control and the choice to turn back was history, the fear fell away and made place for total rest and peace knowing that God was in control.
We always were able to cross the border and get the Bibles to their destiny and our family always felt that the trips paid off big time when we met the loving Body of Christ that was persecuted but strong and with love for the Lord, a love that was often missing in the western countries where people could openly profess their faith.
We were always encouraged by what we saw out there, and until today, we feel thankful and blessed for seeing God’s hands work!
Go in faith and you will see God’s handywork that never fails!
